Installation Final: Kelsey Montague Wings
The inspiration for my installation art class final project for last semester came from an artist Tate discovered named Kelsey Montague. Kelsey studied art in Florence, Italy and proceeded to graduate from Richmond University in London. Kelsey’s artwork is a work of art and transform into murals. A couple of video links entailing Kelsey’s process in her art are here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3GkPChKUJo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8bcwTQjThw For the last two weeks of the semester my classmates and I had the task of completing an individual total of twenty-five feathers in five different categories with five feathers for each category- warm colors, cool colors, primary colors, secondary colors and rainbow. The Process:
When watching the videos of Kelsey’s process within her artwork and how dedicated and devoted she was to her craft prior to starting the project I thought that there was no way possible that I would be able to produce a final product anything near like Kelsey’s. When completing the project, I realized it’s not about being as good as someone or comparing to them but wanting to do your best in what you do not only in art but also in everyday life and wanting to push to 100%. Kelsey’s art is easily found by searching the hashtag “What is art” or #whatisart. Feel free to have a friend take your picture under the wings and post your photo to social media using the hashtag!
