High school memory? Just had my 330 hyear class reunion so I would have to say spending time with my friends and I loved playing high school sports.
College? Tacoma Community College
Why become a para educator? When my son (who is 16 now) was a toddler, I resigned my position from Pierce county and decided to stay home with my two children. I started subbing in his pre-school class at Artondale and really enjoyed it. I continued to sub until he was in 2nd and my daughter was in 5th when I decided to apply for a permanent position. I really enjoy working with children at all ages and assisting them in whatever way I can.
Why did you select Henderson as a place to be? I have heard such wonderful things about HBHS over the years. I decided that it was time for a new change and challenge and I knew that someday I would like to work in a High School setting. This was the perfect opening.
How long have you been here? Three days.
What do you enjoy most about Henderson? The staff and students have been very welcoming and friendly. I really enjoy the small environment and the ability to get to know staff and students individually.
What is your main goal for this year? It is definitely a transition from Elementary school, but I am hoping to learn as much as I can about Henderson Bay and I hope to make impacts in kids' lives.
All time favorite teacher? Mr. Begenheir. He taught accounting and I loved the way he taught and the subject as well. There was a common respect in his classroom and he made learning fun.
Can you share three things on your bucket list? Travel to England with my family to attend an EPL Soccer Match at one of the storybook stadiums; travel to the East coast; travel, travel and more travel.
What else? I have been married to my husband Joe for 26 years. I have a daughter, Rachel, who is a sophomore at PLU. She plays college soccer and is hoping to major in Nursing with a minor in Psychology. I also have a son, Justin, who is a Junior at GHHS who is also a dedicated soccer player and student. I also have a 10 year old labradoodle named Trooper! I love spending time with my family.
