What even goes on in drama class?
What do they do? Are there any upcoming events involving the class? Maybe you have wondered these same questions, maybe you haven’t. Either way, I am here to talk about the most fun class of all: Drama. Right now, they are working on memorizing and perfecting their script for a project coming up. They are working as a group to perform a play for a test grade. The class hasn’t yet decided on whether or not they want to perform in for the whole school or just for the daycare. The play is based off the children's book, The Gruffalo. The group rewrote an entire script, designed props, costumes, and makeup looks, and even added an entire part to the play. They did lots of research to pull this whole play together including reading the book and watching the movie. Besides this play, they are still continuing to get regular drama practice in. This last Wednesday, March 1, 2017, they watched an episode from a TV show called, “Monk”. They were told to write down 3-5 sentences on what the main character did that was good. This is normal in this class, they usually watch a movie or a show and observe different characters throughout each scene. They also play a lot of games involving improv, pantomiming, etc. Here are some pictures of the class from last Wednesday! ~Abby |
