Clover Park Technical College

This last Wednesday, the 12th, before break, a group of 5 seniors went to visit Clover Park Technical College. It was a great experience for a lot of us, and it was awesome to see. We toured the medical/dental building, the cosmetology/esthetician building, and the media building. The Clover Park campus is huge!

At the medical building we got to see some students working on manikins and studying. It was cool to see that they had to treat the manikins like they were real people and had to treat their working environment as if it was a real surgery room. For example, they had to wash up and put gloves on before they went into the room to do surgery. Also, the dental building was very similar. We got to see the students working with their manikins and performing x rays and cleaning their teeth.

At the cosmetology/esthetician building, we got to see the students studying, and cutting/dying their clients hair. We saw the room where they do people’s makeup, and the room where people get massages. There were tons of products displayed that the students use regularly. The whole building looked and smelled like a real salon. It was very relaxing and interesting to see.

Lastly, we went to the media building and saw where the students study. There was not much at this building because classes were not in session so the classrooms were locked. One of the seniors in our group is planning on attending Clover Park and got accepted, and they will be learning in the media building so it was cool to see where they would be going.

Overall, we all had a good day at Clover Park and I think we all left with our own idea of what it would be like to attend school there. Some of us are even planning on applying for next fall! Here are some pictures of the campus and the cosmetology building:
